I thought the finale was good, but could have been a tiny bit better. The season as a whole was excellent in the middle. The beginning was good, but off a tad. The middle was superb! The last 2-3 episodes before finale were amazing. So I was expecting a tad more today. My complaints 1. I wanted to see more of Nate’s redemption. I predicted some of it. But, even with that 1 scene between him and Ted, we never really got to see him have any big important conversations besides with Beard. While there was a lot of important info that came out there, and Beard was the biggest hold out too, it was the relationship with Ted that needed to be healed. And it was, but was there really no other significant conversation??? He just resumed working there and Ted acted as if nothing had ever happened? I know Ted had forgiven him. But there absolutely could have and should have been a deeper conversation addressing Nate’s deeper issues that had pushed him away. 2. I did not need to see Beard in a thong in the opening scene. As much as I love the character! Comments I can’t say I’m surprised that Keeley didn’t choose either one, and chose herself. I do respect the growth process for her, Roy and Jamie, all of them. And they are all in the middle of that, so it makes sense not to have a sudden happy ending. I see potential for a spinoff focused on the new women’s club and Roy as head manager and his growth! I mean it would have everyone except Ted. There were some plot points from the season that were abandoned at the end, or barely given a wrap up. It felt like they ran out of time and couldn’t cover everything they wanted to. So I wish that either some stories were scrapped if they couldn’t finish them properly or they had added more time, even more episodes. Overall, though, at least it was a good, decent ending. I liked the vague ness of the status of him and Michelle. I didn’t think it made sense for them to reunite, but I also didn’t like Dr. Jake since he clearly had an improper relationship with Michelle. I like how it was left up in the air. Ted didn’t feel as much like himself in this episode and I think it was his need to get home to be with his son. So it made sense. I didn’t expect Rebecca to be as upset as she was, but that was also beautiful to see their relationship. And we know that Ted is still close with them!
